6 Weeks!

Cason is 6 weeks old today.  Yes, I know I missed the 5 week post.  It was a busy week visiting my office and getting ready for Ryan’s birthday party.  This week has been more relaxed and fun to have Neanie and Grandpa here (more pictures later).

Cason is really growing...he moved up to size 1 diapers and is finally fitting into all his 0-3 month Carter’s outfits that had previously been too big for him.  I even packed up all the Gerber 0-3month onesies since they were skin tight.  We’ve weighed him at home and get weights ranging from 9.5 to 10.5 pounds so I’m thinking he’s about 10 pounds.  I tried to measure him today and think he’s around 21 inches.  He’s very alert and really starting to notice the world around him.  He’s also holding his head up on his own more often and for longer periods.  He kicks his legs so hard that when he’s laying on your lap, he can launch himself off if you aren’t careful.

As always, the rest of our photo shoot.

Playtime with Daddy

Ryan was getting some “smiles” out of Cason.  I know they aren’t really smiles but you could tell he was happy.  DSC_1388DSC_1390 DSC_1391DSC_1392

Mr. Adorable

Neanie and I found this shirt at Target right after Cason was born.  He can finally wear it and did so proudly on our recent trip to meet all my coworkers.  Of course they all thought he was, indeed, adorable!

First Mother’s Day

This is just a couple of weeks late… a couple of pictures from our first Mother’s Day.  Ryan and Cason got me this beautiful plant (that I have kept alive so far) and a beautiful necklace with Cason’s birthstone (Diamond… ha, poor Ryan).DSC_1374DSC_1378

Being Domestic: Burp Cloth

In about 20 minutes, I went from this (cloth diaper and some grosgrain ribbon)

To this cute little burp cloth for the future basketball star.

I’m going to take it to have his name embroidered on as a final touch.

This was one of the projects on my “to do before the baby comes” list… most of which did not get done before his early arrival!

Old Family Pictures

I’m cleaning out boxes of “stuff” my mom brought me after we moved in the house… all my “stuff” (there might be a better word to use here that starts with “cr” and ends with “ap”) that was filling up the closet in my old bedroom.
Tonight I found these pictures and they made me happy.  Oh how I wish Cason (and Admiral) would have known my Pop and my Nana!
These are from 1995.

My dad in his usual chair at Pop and Grammy’s… though it was James’s chair on Christmas Morning.  I’m not sure why my Dad and Uncle Deaun are dressed for a blizzard and my Cousin Will is dressed for a summer day… haha.  This appears to be after the gifts were open so I assume that means Aunt Rose, Uncle Ed and Cousin Jean sent Will that Jersey from Seattle and he had to wear it.

Pop in his recliner in his bedroom.  This is where he was sure to be found after a long Christmas Day.

I don’t remember him sitting in this chair much… especially not at Christmas time!

Though Pop appears to be in the same sweater, this picture is at my parents house and is just too good not to post! Two of my favorite men!

I think this was the year that Mom had her Vertigo spell.  I have pictures from the same stack of her laid up on the couch.  I’m using restraint and not posting them… at least not for now!

One Month!

Yesterday (May 16) was my due date.  I know “due dates” are not an exact science but we all live by them when pregnant.  We count down the months, the weeks, the days in preparation.  My “due date” came and went and instead of being miserably tired of being pregnant and ready to meet my little man we were celebrating the fact that he is ONE MONTH OLD!

To celebrate his birthday, I took him for a weigh in at the hospital today.  9 POUNDS 2 OUNCES!!!  He’s a growing boy!!!

Here are a few pictures from the past few days.

This is how he likes to sleep when not swaddled.  And even when swaddled you can tell this is how his legs are positioned.DSC_1334

It’s been a whirlwind month from delivery to settling in at home to learning to function on little sleep to trying to get in a good routine.  So far, so good!

4 Weeks

It’s really hard to believe that it has already been 4 weeks since Cason made his early arrival.  Sunday, Cason will officially be 1 month old.  Crazy.  We are still loving ever minute of this journey… well, okay, I’ll be honest… I could do without the 3-4am wake up calls!  ;)
Here are the 1 week and 4 week pictures.  He’s filling out.  The little white long sleeve onesie in the 1 week picture fits like spandex now!  For the first 2 weeks, these onesies were all he could wear.  Now we are finally moving to the cuter outfits! Yay!

After our photo shoot, we had a little one-on-one time with Pooh Bear.

And the rest of the photo shoot… I suggest clicking to see these bigger!! :)  He was in a happy mood and never got mad at me for taking too many pictures so there are no screaming/crying pictures this week!!
