Wall Art: Hurricane Ike Puzzles

Ryan and I have always enjoyed doing puzzles.  In my family growing up, on both sides, there was always a puzzle being done at the Grandparents house.  At different times, Ryan and I had worked on puzzles and we really like the photomosaic kind.  We did a lion (SAE Mascot) mosaic that hung in the bedroom at the old house.

During Hurricane Ike, we went out and got two mosaic puzzles to entertain ourselves since we had no power for two weeks.  Yes, we put puzzles together by flashlight. We justified a Mickey puzzle and a Pooh puzzle that we’d one day put them in a kids room or game room.  And, now we are doing just that.

We framed the puzzles this weekend and are happy with how they turned out since they have such a story behind them.

We also bought Tigger sometime recently and Ryan put it together last month, so he’s completed the set.DSC_0488

This is where we think the puzzles will be hung, but we are waiting to get our chair and bedding/curtains in before putting the holes in the wall.

Speaking of the hair… we found a glider/rocker and ottoman combo on sale this weekend and ordered it.  It was comfortable for both of us and we are excited to have all the big stuff marked off the list.

It will be this chair (with ottoman), in a dark wood with neutral/khaki fabric.
