Happy Halloween

Cason the Builder

Cason is sitting up for longer and longer periods, especially when he has something to focus on (or lean on). Tonight we spent some time with the workbench of tools. He likes to pull the levers on the saw and the drill.

Halloween Cookies

Last year I got some Halloween Cookie Cutters on sale for dirt cheap.  I haven’t baked in FOREVER (or at least not more than place – and – bake cookies).  So tonight after Cason went to bed, I made these.

Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix and Wilton Buttercream Icing. 

It was nice to pull out the stand mixer and decorating tools again.  And, I have leftover icing which always makes me very happy.  My co-workers will be really happy if I show up with cookies/cake this week!

Becoming Best Friends

Cason has really taken an interest in Admiral over the past few weeks.  Whenever he is nearby, Cason starts reaching for him.  Admiral is still not 100% sure about this relationship but he’s been a very good big brother.  I think as soon as the food starts hitting the floor under the high chair, Admiral will realize that Cason is way more fun than Mom and Dad!

It was only a matter of time before this happened… changing diapers will never be the same.

1/2 Birthday

Saturday was Cason’s 1/2 Birthday.  6 Months, I can’t believe it!  We were so busy at the pumpkin patch that I am a day late on the pictures.  We took these right before bed… Cason is always so happy right before bed.  It makes it really hard to put him down because we just want to play with him.

At his 6 month check up, Cason weighed in at 18lb 11oz (75th percent) and measured 28in (93rd percent, go figure).  He’s such a big boy, as you can see in these pictures…

As you’ll see in the rest of the photo shoot, Cason’s really working on sitting up.  I sat him against the bumpers in his crib and he pulled himself forward to sitting.  He still fall to the side and will lean too far over and not be able to pull himself back up.  But every day he can stay sitting for a few seconds longer. 

 

Don’t let this picture fool you, that’s as far as he’ll roll in this direction.  He’ll go all the way over to his tummy the other direction.

Sitting up makes Pooh Bear very interesting!
