Naked Baby

While at Ryan’s cousin’s wedding weekend, we attended a picnic on this beautiful property outside of Fort Worth.  It was H-O-T hot so we stripped Cason down and found a nice shade tree to lay out the blanket.  He was so happy and just so cute so I snapped a few pictures (go figure… Mom taking pictures).

As you will see, I got a little carried away.

Trying out the Jumperoo

We’ve been putting Cason in the Jumperoo for a couple of months now.  Of course, at first he couldn’t touch the ground and he could barely hold his head up but he liked to look at the different toys.  Now, he can touch the ground and he sits up pretty good.  But he hasn’t really figured out how to jump.  It’s mostly just swaying and sort of walking in place.

Happy Baby

This is the best way to describe our little man… Happy.   He just loves to kick those legs!

14 Weeks

Cason’s 14 week birthday was while we had lots of family from Neanie’s side here visiting.  I snuck in a quick photo session.  Cason was NOT happy about it.

So Uncle James hung out to cheer him up.

And then Uncle James played Dress Up with Cason…

Cason is really starting to be a lot of fun.  He smiles and laughs more and more each day and his head control is almost 100%.  He’s so alert and will follow us around the room, especially his daddy.

This is one of my favorite pictures to date.

And the rest of the unhappy 14 week photoshoot:

3 Months

We were travelling on Cason’s 3 month birthday last Friday. With it being my first week back at work and trying to get packed up and on the road for our first road trip with a baby, there was no time for official 3 month pictures.

To celebrate his birthday, Cason took his first road trip to Fort Worth for Ryan’s cousin Brad’s wedding.  He had his first visit to Buc-ee’s and then attended his first Rehearsal Dinner followed by his first night in a hotel.

A few pictures taken on his 3 month birthday will have to do.

The Rehearsal Dinner was at the Fort Worth Zoo so Cason got to see an OwlDSC_0286

And he got to see this guy.  But we didn’t get too close -- especially after the handler almost let him get loose.  Yikes.

At 3 months, Cason is almost 15 pounds…Oink Oink…

Four Generations

Cason met his Great Grandparents this weekend and we got a great picture of the 4 guys… all with the middle name “Philip”.

Grandma and Grandpa were thrilled to meet Cason and we were so glad to be with them for the day.

There is something wrong with this picture…

First Day of “School”

Today was my first day back to work and Cason’s first full day with the sitter, Jennifer.  We both did great.

I was being silly this morning and took a “First Day” picture with his backpack!  :)  As you can see he was VERY happy about this.

Jennifer sent us a couple of pictures via Text Message (gotta love technology).  I think he had a great time with the bigger kids.

Tomorrow will be my first day making the commute so we will see how much harder that is on all of us.

Good Morning

This is probably an “only grandma would enjoy this” video but I just love watching Cason break free from his swaddle in the morning.

Loving the Mobile

I got my fancy camera back from the camera doctor today so I had to play with it.  I was seriously going through camera withdrawals the past 2 weeks.  Luckily its back just in time for our trip to Fort Worth next weekend and the big family visit the following weekend.

Here are some pictures of Cason enjoying his mobile before and after a nap… and yes there was a wardrobe change… draw your own conclusions.  :)

This is the best shot I could get of the kicking that goes on while he watches Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore roll by.  Video would have been better.DSC_0187

12 Weeks Old

Wow.  12 weeks already.

For comparison, at 1 Week

01

He’s in love with the mobile in his bed.  He’ll sit and watch it, kicking and cooing as each Winnie the Pooh character floats by.

He smiles a lot and seeing that will make any bad day better.

He eats and eats and eats… sometimes he eats 8oz in one feeding and then is ready to eat his normal 5oz again in 3 hours.  (Definitely his Daddy’s son)

He’s sleeping 8+ hours every night (YAY!!!)

His neck and back strength is really improving.  We don’t really have to worry about holding his head when we hold him.

You talking to me, Pooh?IMG_6606

Hey Ladies, I’m available!IMG_6612 IMG_6614

I go back to work on Monday.  I guess I don’t “go” anywhere until Tuesday as I’ll work from home on Monday.  I’m most stressed about all the logistics of everything. I know I’ll miss the little man but I’m also a little excited to get back into my routine at work.  I’ve never dreamed of staying home so I always knew being with Cason every day was temporary.  I’ll admit that after spending 12 weeks at home with the little guy there is now some level of wanting to stay home but not enough to actually take the plunge and do it…yet!

Monday will be Cason’s first full day with the sitter.  I took him yesterday for a couple of hours and he did great.  The other kids seem to be excited to have a baby joining the group.  I know he’s going to thrive being around the older kids and that makes me really excited.
