I guess I’ll back up to the day after I told them I was pregnant. I was called into a meeting (that was all a big waste of 30 minutes to get me out of my desk) and returned to my desk to find this…
And this… yum. They were all very excited that I was pregnant (and love an excuse for cake). I don't think it had set in with them that me having a kid would mean I'd be away from work for a couple of months come summer. Or maybe that is why they were so excited....
Then a couple of weeks ago I got a request to be in a meeting related to something I wasn’t really involved in but just thought my boss wanted my input. Then, I came down with an awful stomach bug in the middle of the night on that Monday night and didn’t make it to work Tuesday or Wednesday. Thursday I finally returned which was the day of said “meeting”. Well, I walked into the meeting to see Ryan, all my coworkers, cake, gifts, etc. They got me. This little episode with the stomach bug really got them all worked up because they were afraid I’d miss Thursday too. Ryan said he would have MADE me go to work.
We were overwhelmed by all the gifts when we were opening them but when we got home and went through it all and set it all out on the counter, we were REALLY overwhelmed. I definitely have some great coworkers!
